Albummet er bl.a. indspillet i Alex Kapranoss eget studie guitarist Nick McCarthys Sausage Studios i London samtidig med at der også er blevet indspillet i både Stockholm og Oslo. Alex Kapranos udtaler at albummet er The Intellect Vs The Soul played out by some dumb band.
